What to expect with Electro-Magnetic Therapy
Preparation
- Pick a day for the therapy when you can avoid excessive smoke. Select a memorable day - such as your birthday, anniversary or simply the first of the month - and start to remind yourself that on that day, you are going to become a non-smoker.
- Empty and clean all ashtrays in your home, car and workplace.
- Remind people in your home that they are not to smoke around you for 24 hours after the therapy.
- Eliminate temptation: get rid of all cigarettes!
Day of Therapy
- Just arrive at the session determined to give up smoking for good. Rest assured - the treatment is completely pain free!
After the Therapy
- Your body will start to detoxify by eliminating nicotine, tar and other toxins contained in cigarettes. Elimination will occur primarily through your skin, which is the largest organ of elimination.
- Avoid alcohol, tea and coffee for 24 hours after treatment, as they can be an unconscious trigger to smoke. However, they will not diminish the effectiveness of the treatment. It is also very important to drink at least 8 glasses of water per day for at least a week after therapy to help your kidney flush the toxins.
- You will still need to exercise some self-discipline to avoid or control situations that trigger your automatic smoking reflex that has developed over years of habitual smoking. Even though anti-nicotine therapy is proven to be a very effective way to eliminate your nicotine cravings, it is still up to you to make sure you do not pick up a cigarette! Remember, even one cigarette smoked will remind your body of the nicotine. Therefore, use of any nicotine products such as gums or patches is not permitted.
